Tiffany Guenther, CD(DONA, PALS)
Hello, my name is Tiffany Guenther. I am a mother, a wife, a follower of Jesus Christ, an animal lover, a biologist and a birth doula. I am a fairly easy going person that tends to get really excited and obsessive over particular topics. A portion of my life had been dedicated to studying and preparing to be a wildlife biologist, focusing on primatology. I have a Bachelor's degree at the University of Washington in ecology, evolution and environmental conservation. I love traveling and prioritize time every year to explore. I've traveled throughout Southeast Asia on research and mission work. I was born and raised in Snohomish, Washington and currently serve expectant families between Renton, Kent, Burien, Sea-Tac, Seattle, Bellevue, Newcastle, Issaquah, Snoqualmie, North Bend, Kirkland, Shoreline, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Bothell, Mountlake Terrace, Brier, Kenmore, Mill Creek, Monroe, Woodinville, Redmond, Duvall, Snohomish, Everett and Marysville.
My Birth Philosophy
The birth of my daughter was the most empowering, transformational and pivotal moment of my life. Since her birth, I have dove head first into the world of birth and decided that this was something too powerful to not be a part of. I value the scientific aspect of life and at the same time am in awe of the miraculous ability of our bodies. I blend that into my doula practice by offering a compassionate, empathetic demeanor backed with multiple resources and research to help educate and inform my clients for any questions that may arise. My philosophy on birth is that as long as the birthing family feels encouraged, supported and well cared for than I am doing my job well. I pass no judgement on whether you want an out of hospital water birth, an epidural in hospital or a planned cesarean birth. Knowing that I can support you in your birth journey, however that may look, and you can look back feeling empowered and satisfied with how you brought your baby into this world, brings me the greatest joy.
Supporting Your Partner
Having a doula at my birth enabled my husband and I to focus on each other and develop a stronger bond. She was able to attend to my basic needs, check in with my husband, field questions with family members and take priceless photos of the birth. Many partners are concerned that a doula will replace them at their love’s birth. On the contrary, a doula does not interrupt the bond with a partner, they enhance it!
I am committed to creating this type of atmosphere and memory during your birth. Working with you and your partner during our prenatals will help establish our working relationship and I will be able to tailor my skills to best create the support you both need during labor and the birth of your child.
